How to Reach Kaziranga by Air

Rowriah Airport in Jorhat is the nearest airport to Kaziranga located at a distance of 96 kilometers. It is well connected to Kolkata, Guwahati and Bengaluru. The second nearest airport is the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati located at a distance of 225 kilometer. Some of the major airlines fly from here include Air India, Air Asia, GoAir, Jet Airways and Spice. Once you reach Jorhat you need to hire taxi to reach Kaziranga National Park.

How to Reach Kaziranga by Road

Kaziranga is well connected by bus route. The main entry gate of the park is located in a small Kohora town falls on the National Highway- 37 and hence Kohora has good connectivity to all the major cities of Assam such a Guwahati, Tezpur, Jorhat, Nagaon, Golaghat, Dimapur, Tinisukia, Sivasagar, etc. by the state transport buses or the privately run buses and minibuses. Local service provides also run vehicles privately that joins Kohora to other nearby small towns. The closest major cities like Guwahati and Jorhat connect to the other parts of the country by the air, rail and road route.

How to Reach Kaziranga by Rail

The nearest railhead to Kaziranga is Furkating which is located at distance of 80 Kilometer. The station receives trains from Guwahati, Delhi and Kolkata. Tourists can also use the other closest railway stations which are the Guwahati railway heads and Jorhat railway station located at the distance of 240 kilometer and 90 km respectively. Both these railway stations are the main railway stations of the Northeast railways. From the railway stations, you can further use the roadways to reach the Kaziranga by hiring the taxi, cab or bus services.
